Oh right, those PSFs also have a spectral dependence! The reduction of spectral to three channels isn’t helping in terms of spectral ambiguity. It’s a really really complex problem.
I would just add that I really love the sharpen AA preset in this module. Aurélien has done another great job. Since I don’t own a camera without the AA filter I have no experience of the no AA filter preset. This module is also doing some nice sharpening of very noisy images for me. It allows me to preserve detail without bringing out the noise. Then another instance of the module allows me to reduce the noise without blurring the detail. I always use the denoise (profiled) wavelets chroma only preset to tackle chroma noise. I really recommend watching Aurélien’s video on this module to even start to understand how the module works.
