Digicam Crashes when opening Trash

I have run into a problem with Digikam that I cannot solve. Every time I go to the Trash folder Digikam locks up and stops responding. I thought there was something wrong with the database or the trash-files. So I have tried to delete them and run again. But I do not seem to be able to solve the problem. Still every time I go into the Trash-folder inside Digikam it crashes.
Is there some way to remove the trash without using the program? It seems that there are some files that I have not found since even though I have tried remove and reinstall Digikam as well as deleting the database files and trash that I can find. It still starts counting files when opening the Trash folder, up until it stops responding. I am running it on Ubuntu.

Thanks in advance!

What OS, what digikam version, and how did you install digikam?

I am running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and installed Digikam 7.5.0 via ubuntu.

Hi, there should be a hidden folder .dtrash in the album folder on your drive. Just delete that folder to empty trash. Every album has its own .dtrash, so depending on your setup you might have to do this step for all you albums.

Thank you Till80! that was what I was looking for and it did the trick!
