Dispcalgui 3.7.0 Cannot install Profile (Mint 19 Mate)

The swapped sRGB profile would make stuff look really weird. I’m pretty sure colord profiles include a swapped sRGB profile though I forget the file name. I think @snibgo has one - I made one for someone but don’t know if/where I kept a copy. I could make another one.

Good morning @snibgo and thank you!

However, my brand new Manjaro dispwin did not like it:

No vcgt tag found in profile - assuming linear

The result was the same as when running dispwin -c

Thank you snibgo for that colour profile.

as with @Claes I have the same error installing the profile with dispwin (I’m running Mint 19 Mate)

However loading a test image into gimp, I can see a difference when I enable the colour managed display option, and then checking and unchecking “use system monitor profile”.

So while I think that I have been able to calibrate the display using Dispcal, I think I’m having a few issues seeing as Mate isn’t really designed with colour calibration in mind. (Compared to KDE or Gnome / Cinnamon)

So I’m going to try Kubuntu 18.04, and see how that works for me  In anycase I’ll be using Kdenlive for some audio visual projects I have on the back burner, so probably best to use a KDE based distro for that  Wish my luck, lol!

Welcome to the Distro Fever gang, @Brian_Innes!

/Claes

Kubuntu wasn’t working well for me, so I’ve reinstalled Mint (again!) this time in Cinnamon flavour. And that’s my monitor icc profile nicely installed using the gnome colour management settings  So I think I’ll stick with Cinnamon from now on

Manjaro Gnome might work well too in terms of color managment, or any distro with Gnome or Cinnamon
However I am not sure if Displaycal works well on this distro

Dispcalgui running nicely on Mint Cinnamon 19
