From what I have seen you can specify the means how a file is loaded in the open dialog of GIMP. Bottom left corner. Having a way to configure what to use for a format would still be useful so that the automatically selected raw editor is the one you want, but at least for testing it should already be possible.
This could be interesting ! Is there any new yet about implementing this to Gimp? A bit like G’Mic stuff…
I’m curious if it has an option to save presets or settings and paste it to a series of photos to export?
Would be cool to have the choice for preset films (Fuji, Kodak) but also other alternative and experimental arty film types such as Lomography Turquoise, Purple, … Harman Switch Azure. Cinestill, etc…
Perhaps an option for InfraRed film simulation, would be awesome!

Hi @bulevardi I think you’ve misunderstood Filmulator, as it doesn’t look to mimic specific film stocks, but rather just film in general, mostly with respect to contrast, highlight roll off, and smoothness.
If you’re looking for film simulations, perhaps have a look at Spektrafilm, which you can find a few posts on here.
I know, but Filmulator looks very intuitive and user friendly.
It would be cool to have -on top of the general film simulation settings- to have some presets to choose from.
Users can than exchange presets for specific situations or genre or type of films.
Mimicking existing films and adding “looks” is very much against the design philosophy: you either take away control by locking in discrete LUTs or you create an explosion of UI complexity.
