Maybe, but on my first set of pictures here in the forum that was the value that prevented artifacts in the highlights (clouds):

[foo] I gave this pano a quick go, and merged the brackets before even checking what they were, before checking whether it was worth merging them. Since there was little difference between the brackets in each bracketed set there was very little to gain, and the resulting merged file, after automatic alignment, suffered from some issues. I started using hdrmerge, as it seems the tool everyone uses for hdr, and, by increasing the Mask Blur Radius from the default of 3 pixels to 10, I could almost get rid of those artifacts: [image] Maybe not clearly seen in this screenshot, but when I switch windows between the default and the 10 pixel radius, I can clearly see that the artifacts are almost gone, and everything else in the picture seems to be preserved. Thanks for pointing that.

Since then, I’ve been using it as default radius
