How to get my MIDI device running in DT

Hi, sorry for digging the old thread up, but I also have problems with midi support. lsusb shows the MIDI Controller, but if I run dt with -d input I do not see it. Could it be an issue with the snap package? I’m running DT 3.8 on ubuntu 21.10 via snap.

Edit: aseqdump shows the correct input, so at least it is recognized by the OS.

Yes the snap package is sandboxed.

Thanks, tried the regular version and everything is working as expected (so happy with the setup…). Does somebody know if there is some kind of rights management for snap? I know flatpak does have such apps… Thanks

I am not aware of one for snap packages.

@joeheb Have you tried to look for snap documentation?
That should at least tell you if what you want is possible
