I’m sure I’m asking the obvious here ...

if you havn’t found tutorial videos then you havn’t searched for them:
https://www.youtube.com/user/audio2u/videos
is one of the most comprehensive collection of videos dealing with darktable

Hi,

while I would recommend the quite extensive series of excellent video tutorials done by Bruce Williams (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkqe4BYsllmcxo2dsF-rFQw ) one might face the truth, that darktable might not be the tool for everyone.
Especially when coming from Aperture, one really might get overwhelmed with the technical depth of this program. darktable has quite a learing curve, but for me is well worth the efforts.
If looking at a raw-converter with more easy consumption, you might want to take a look at ART:
agriggio / ART / wiki / Home — Bitbucket

Perhaps this is something better fitting your needs than darktable?

Yes, I’ve been watching Bruce Williams. Yes, he’s very good, but his beginner videos are showing an earlier version. He’s done some videos on the new version, but they assume prior knowledge.

Regarding ART. The Mac versions are only being tested at the moment and I also couldn’t find much about it online, suggesting video resources are limited.

Have you seen his video episodes 84, 85 and 86? They are a three part series specifically for newbees re. darktable 3.4

you can search for the subject in reverse chronological order. If there’s no new video on a topic even older videos are quite valid.
