Probably worse. With color at least you can control using the same monitor/brightness/calibration every time, for audio even a slight increase or decrease in volume can mess with your auditory perception due to how we perceive frequencies at different volumes. It’s a mess ![]()

Our mind has never functioned as a recording device per se, but is a prediction tool for what action to perform next to likely increase chances of survival in a 3D social relations world.
Generally what is of most interest in sensing is contrasts and patterns rather than absolute values. And there it is quite good I think.
So much of the testing we do in physiopsychologal laboratory tests (and other psychology tests) are so far removed from our actual living conditions that their ecological validity aren’t very high.
