Could you perhaps share the exported PNG and JPEG (and maybe GIMP project)? Then we could compare both their pixel values and their color profiles to get an idea of what’s going on.

Yes, what @spid says. PNG files have multiple ways of specifying the tone transform, and it may be that two of the ways are stepping on each other. Should be easy to see from the metadata…
