In order not to disrupt the “processing challenge”, I include this information with a small change to the code.
I replaced the “checkbutton” - “Smooth highlight” (Source Data Adjustments) with a combobox with 3 choices:
- None = does nothing
- Ev based = applies the previous algorithm, reducing the Ev (with weighting) if they are greater than zero and up to +12Ev
- Gamma based = applies the “Thatcher Freeman” algorithm which takes into account the notion of gamma of Black Ev and White Ev.
Ev based, generally gives a stronger attenuation, but takes into account if this presents greater DR.

I have just push another change.
A (very old) bad behavior in Ciecam (advanced).
Viewing conditions.
When checking “automatic” (temp) , the preview was not always updated, even though the cursors were displayed: a complex GUI problem - for me.
I hope, because the number of possibilities (for the GUI) here is important depending on the choices upstream, that I have not done more harm than good.

It may be a bit difficult to reproduce.
I can reproduce, this bad behavior…
But I am sure (pretty) I have no solution…Big GUI problem (at least for me).

Tried the latest AppImage from 2 hours ago…
When I delete a spot with CA enabled, RT hangs and won’t respond anylonger.
It doesn’t happen with other tools or with the regular master dev build.
Let me know if (and especially how) I can provide more data if needed.
