Is this because the filter is to strong? Or should I try a longer exposure time next time?
No idea, I never “played” with this kind of filters. I only found the challenge interesting.
Ok, Thanks for playing
Thanks!
The picture from Choosing an Infrared Filter - Kolari Vision says everything.
For that look I seem to need a weaker filter.
Here’s my emulation. The masking needs some work, but the idea is there

Looks great!
Mantiuk06 op in LuminanceHDR > RawTherapee.
Then colorized in iDeepColor, just automatically generated with no hints.
A less dramatic Kodak Infra sim in RawTherapee:
Then of course lets see what iDeepColor can do for us… (two hints)
Nice image. Here is my take. I went the B&W route.
1. PhotoFlow
→ WB (more B) → HL mode (blend) → linear Rec2020 (no clipping) → 32f
2. gmic
→ filter pixels
3. pnmclahe
→ enhance contrast
4. gmic
→ grey scale → adjust contrast, brightness (curves) → enhance contrast (edges) → crop → sharpen (LoG) → resize → vignette → brighten (curve) → frame
Zoom to 100% and enjoy!
@Daniel_Catalina merci for the hell field >> I think a foreground object could have enriched and nurture the perpective-stroll-4-the-eye a bit
@HIRAM those pistacchino and chocccolatino versions!!!

gmic… well g’mic went rogue, gimp was jealous and crashed me computor!!!
only neu zing is gmic’s cubism in BKG layer and me own LUT (initializer.cube for personal REF)

Cheers
How about pointing a satellite at it?
I like the crystalline effect it has on the upper sky.
Up your game.
This one uses a new filter that I’m testing:
