Thanks for this PlayRaw. My try in DT.

Thanks for sharing! RT plus some (quite poorly executed!) GIMP tweaks to get rid of flares
I really enjoyed this frame a lot! I think you’ll be in great shape once you start getting sharper results
Here is my take, in darktable:

I like this crop!
Exported two images from RT and blended in GIMP. Here are the pp3 files for the two exports.

I changed the position of the moon so that the point of convergence of the lines given by the bridge and the city lights has a subject. Of course, this leads to various philosophical questions about reality and photography. All are welcome to join
Here is my version. I used the lens correction module of darktable to give it a “stereographic” distortion effect, did some dodging to highlight the trails of light in foreground, and some other basic edits.
I like this shot, it’s great for testing different techniques
IMG_1076.CR2_inverse-s-curve.pp3 (12.8 KB)
I’ve reduced the exposure about 1 stop, recovered highlights and applied an inverse s-shaped curve in lab color space
@age, your edit looks to me more like what my eyes saw!
Thanks everyone for their edits. Shame the original photo isn’t terribly sharp, perhaps it was due to camera movement due to slight wind. Or perhaps it is still an issue with focussing on the Canon 10-18mm lens.
Will have another play with the image and see what I can come up with.
Looking at the house under the bridge in my previous attempt there’s some artifacts due to the curve applied in LAB.
I think the weighted standard curves could give a much natural rendition in this case.
I’ve used the latest dev rawtherapee with local contrast
EDIT: second version with more saturation and not highlight compression
RawTherapee’s CIECAM02 chroma curve decolorifying upper tonalities, with other things done to boost color under the effect for good measure.
