I could offer to start a thread and compile the results. If there is an interest.

(*) I would suggest to use this forum. Github was mentioned. But I think Github would hinder a larger group of users (non-programmers) from providing comments. The usability of Github is also not really great for the non-programmer. You would first need to explain, Pull requests and all the other stuff.

Puzzling UI set-up of new dt 4.0

I have installed dt 4.0 on my Linux Mint pc. (Thanks to those who for the last couple of dt versions have arranged for new versions to be immediately pushed in Mint update system, while previously it could take frustrating months. Much appreciated!) Prior to installation I de-installed 3.8.1 and deleted the /.config/darktable folder, so I believe I now see dt 4.0 as any completely new user sees it – and that puzzles me somewhat: While the manual argues for and describes the scene-referred app…

Also - my understanding is that even if a discussion originates here - it is best to be linked to Github as Github is linked to the particular features / code etc. Besides - some developers are not on pixls.us

I guess users will have to adapt.

The video bundles a few items together and at some point they are intertwined - maybe separating them would be better (if we intend to discuss them specifically).
