I worked on a commercial gtk2 app running on windows and Linux. In an attempt to port it to gtk3, I noticed the windows version of gtk3 was a lot slower in creating and managing widgets. Enough to cancel the porting process at the time.
But this was ages ago so it’s probably outdated, and gtk4 is around the corner…

It’s actually released https://gtk.org/ and already at v.4.2.1
