Recreating that VSCO Look

Not too intense for me. It may or may not come across because of the Internet. But I’m trying to both learn for improvement as well as explaining decisions where practical.

I need to get the sound better. I also need to ennunciate. At the same time, I think for an English speaker it should have been clear what I was saying and doing.

I think this is why you find a lot of tutorials on Youtube that just have music playing in the background. It’s easier than subjecting yourself to criticism (constructive or not). But I find for anything outside of the most basic tasks, it’s a lot harder to follow what’s going on if the teacher isn’t explaining what and why of what they’re doing.

Anyway, I’m not too bothered by any criticism - so far it’s all been constructive. No one has just resorted to name-calling. I’ll do the best I can with the resources I have - if I spent a few weeks on a tutorial like some of the nice ones I see on Youtube, they’d look awesome. There’s a guy who sells tutorials on GIMP and Darktable and they look and sound awesome (AS they should if they cost money). But if there are things I can do that don’t add too much time in post, I’m willing to give them a shot.

One of the easiest tutorials I’ve seen on RT. Thanks for putting together, much appreciated.

Oh well I will chime in too… Thanks very much for the demo! I use the CLUT’s in RT a lot and enjoy them and now have another nifty way to approach some film emulation. The AV recording technically was no issue for me at all and seemed well done. Your speech was perfectly understandable as well though it did occur to me that you were speaking softly at times, as if to not wake the baby, which I appreciated too because nobody should want the baby to wake up in the middle of your recording!
