Redstart Portraits, Fuji XF150-600

Hello! Yesterday I got the new Fuji XF 150-600 and thought it would be interesting to share some pictures for the people who are on the fence about it. So far I’m really impressed, the lens is light, quick to focus and the build quality is great. I’ve only gotten some redstart portraits but hopefully they are good enough

There’s still no lens correction, but comparing with the jpeg at 600mm the distortion is minimal and not very perceivable.

RT-dev with a local spot on the eyeball for some more illumination of the color inside.

It’s a nice edit and I was curious how you did this, but…

Did you use a non default, external profile for this edit?

I’m asking because if I apply _DSF9977.jpg.out.pp3 to _DSF9977.RAF I end up with this:

Both the latest appimage and the very latest self build version show this result. I’m presuming that a (Fuji X-T3?) specific colour profile was used here, but I can’t find one that fits.

This might be a white balance issue. Not sure what’s going on, though, if this profile does show up correctly for you.

My try in RT-dev:

@Jade_NL: same here, setting the whitebalance to “camera” the reddish coloring is gone.

Hello jode_NL and first of all excuse me for the translation that I am very bad at this.
In your edition I think there must be a problem with the white balance due to the reddish color of the photo.
In editing don’t use any external edict, just rawtherapee.
Below in the three editions that I practiced is the file with the exact settings of the edition.

I just figured out what caused this issue:

You used the old 5.8 version (the one from February 2020) and if I load the RAW+pp3 with that version all is OK. The same RAW+pp3 in one of the later version is not OK.

Not at all sure why there is such a discrepancy in the (camera) White Balance settings comapred to the newer versions, might be a bug somewhere down the road that got fixed.

@josemar127 : If you want a newer/better RawTherapee version have a look here: Direct download links to the latest RawTherapee development version.

OK, no more off-topic stuff and back to the nice Fuji lens

@josemar127 @Jade_NL The WB factors for that camera was added to dev in July 2020 by @Thanatomanic and team.
