Share your desktop wallpaper! (... and the challenges of owning a 1200p monitor)

Lots of 1920x1200 folks here. I’m one too, for my laptop. I have a rotation of my own photos, mostly ones that I like, but a few that give me reminders of things I did wrong too. I have an export preset in DT that creates 1920x1200 JPG for this purpose. I use Install Dynamic Wallpaper Editor on Linux | Flathub to save myself some manual XML editing.

I am sure you are aware that it is bad practice to do this on Windows. I do not know about your system, but it well known that icons on Desktop slow down the system in a non-negligible way because they are taking up memory and constantly refreshing.

MS admits this by providing an option to toggle off desktop icons. Right click, View and un-check View desktop icons.

@Vente In OP, everyone has a big head, which is distracting to me along with the deep colours. The watchtower one is nice though; would be even better if it were animated. :film_projector:

@prawnsushi That has some Lofi Girl vibes. Mind sharing the GIF? Want to see what the animation does.

Yeah, I kind of agree, but for me, that was actually what made me choose the wallpaper  I was looking for a wallpaper out of 001-030 series where Monstercat is as large as possible.

Yeah, I agree, the colors are a bit more saturated than ideal. The thing is, they’re quite bland on my laptop (the custom display profile doesn’t affect the wallpaper unfortunately), so overall it’s kind of balanced.

Original artwork is less saturated and Monstercat himself has a lot less contrast, so I needed to tweak the colors a bit to look imo better. Original:

Even worse if you use file preview and have a ton of pictures, pdf, docx, etc.

No problem.

Kitty!
The background reminds me a bit of Rainworld – a rainy, pixelart cityscape, although in this case it’s not post-apocalyptic

Thanks for the reference. Quarter speed would be my preference. This is too intense for my liking. Maybe it is just my computer/browser…

I agree, this is too fast for a wallpaper, something like 4 or 5 fps seems to be ideal

Sans titre
Something like this?
Feels quite slomo though.

The original was just rain speed i think.

Turns on rainwave.cc → chiptune. Feels about right.

Yeah, the rain speed makes it feel off. It would probably have to be made for slower framerates by skipping frames of the rain animation

Yeh I am a big time goku fan… Now let me tell you the challenges of owning a 1600x900 display, its damn small, you just cant fit anything on the screen without straining your eyes, you don’t enjoy it you bear the pain and become a stronger person. I have a secondary better monitor too, 1440p but I use the lower resolution one because it saves space and is compatible with both vga and hdmi instead of dp and hdmi on my secondary one.
