Open-sourcing the frontend to a commercial platform doesn’t make that platform open source. Having the CLI or web frontend run on your own machine doesn’t make the whole thing run on your own machine.
The entire point of STAG was to build something simple that runs locally (and to demonstrate that this kind of thing is actually easy to do, despite what certain tech bros would prefer people to believe).
Very cool project Stephan and really like the open och run locally approach! Need to actually try it but I already have two thoughts. Would it be possible to extend with a local reference library of named persons, pets, etc? That would be really useful and the local hosting would make me more inclined at doing that. Second thing, maybe less related, but the search function performance would be important on a autotagging solution. A really fast fuzzy search would maybe do the trick?
