Thanks for the replies. I’ll share some of the secret sauce. lol
I used G’MIC’s Polygonize to create the outlines. I widened them up with G’MIC’s Gradient Norm. I then isolated just the the actually object (filled background with black). I then texturized just the object lines using a canvas texture which displace mapped onto the lines to give the spiral thread effect. I then used EyeCandy’s fur to add some stray fibers to the lines to give it a more realistic look.
Sounds like an adventure.
