Very nice image…

It looks, from the sizes we see here, to have done a really clean job. I am an ignorant savage who thinks 2D art when I hear the name Krita, was it tedious to do that reposition? I may have to go play…
A common acronym for ‘UnSharp Mask’. Not just the GIMP; the term comes from an old film-darkroom technique involving a blurred (“unsharp”) mask used to increase apparent sharpness. Most editors have it.
Gotcha! I learn new things everyday!
It was pretty easy, I have an machine-learning box select plugin installed, so it’s one click to select the birds, copy and move them around, then I used the clone tool to remove the originals. Krita is pretty good even for basic manipulations with a nice intuitive interface, I use it more than GIMP nowadays.

Great shot, i like the athmosphere. Wouldn’t have done anything different.
Played with AGX (daunting), color correction with mask and retouch of a dust bunny

These edits are wonderful! Its fun to see all the different approaches to the fog, colors, and contrasts.
While I have loved seeing images in high resolutions, please be kind to our site storage! I linked to the requested size limitations in the original post. Yes, I was guilty of it too…its an easy thing to forget if you have not set up an export preset!
I find I really want to see the trees on the left – there are some great autumn colours hidden away in there. I’ve hazed out the most distant trees, left the trees on the right as a kind of low contrast, low lightness area, almost negative space, and tried to make those colourful trees almost smack you in the face.
As ever, I expect I’ve overcooked the colours a bit; I usually have to revisit things and tone them down a few days later.
A beautiful, peaceful scene. I have made only subtle changes (in GIMP).
A slight emphasis on the mist.
autumn colors in monochrome…sure, call me odd, but that’s the way I roll

I dont think its odd at all! With the exception of a few trees, most of the “fall color” is a result of dry conditions and spotted lantern fly infestation.
At the end of June we had 3" more rainfall than average. By the end of September we had a 2.75" deficit. So little rain has put everything exept trees with the longest tap roots (or those closest to the lake shore) under significant stress.
Oh boy, i’ve been careless after a reinstall on my new laptop. Is there a way I can delete my upload and re upload a proper size?
