One way to help test different modules or edits is the snapshot function that in recent versions has been upgraded to include a ‘restore snapshot into current history’ option. This is brilliant because you can compare multiple options such a sigmoid vs base curve and see which is best. Then simply click on the down arrow to return to the history for this snapshot.
You can convert it with digikam as well.
I’ve added some more colour to my original effort after viewing the nice renditions here. Will post later
@s7habo
Thanks
Even so there is always a good reason to say thank you to @s7habo for his fantastic tutorials and engagement, is there a special reason to do this in this thread?
If you mean on this forum, yes, almost everything I’ve learned about editing photos has been through the posts here. It’s an invaluable source of knowledge.
Sorry for creating confusion, I just wondered, why @lightlover said thank you to you HERE in this thread. I haven’t seen any input from you on this special thread, that’s why I asked.
I agree with you that this forum is a fantastic place to learn things. And I underline that there is always a good reason to say thank you to you, for the time and effort you spend to create this great video tutorials.
And probably it is as well always a good time to thank all other participants on this forum for having such a nice place with nice manners and full of helpfulness.
But I fear we are drifting into Offtopic
He thanked me because I liked his version. His treatment is reduced to the essentials, both in terms of color and texture, which has a very soft and clear look.
Thanx for clarification.
You are right, plus I realized that you understood that I had watched the video (episode 82 i think) on your channel!
Now I have to rewatch this one
It used to be one of the first modules, breaking the linearity early on. Also, I think the original author of the exposure fusion feature mentioned that it was planned to be used with middle grey being at 18%, at the end of the pipeline, bit that was not its original position. Lastly, it used to be smoked strictly component-wise, with no colour preservation. Now it’s not much different from the other curves, if memory serves me well.
