The need for 1:1 warnings?

Several RT-tools, at least 12, are marked with a 1:1 warning telling that the editing result should be evaluated in 1:1 to be reliable.

This is not the case with the new (5.5) haze removal tool even though constructing a correct/reliable preview turns out to be a real challenge. The preview seems to be very reliable even when the sliders are pushed to max.

Can the method used in the haze removal tool be adapted to some of the other RT-tools so that the 1:1 warning can be removed?

You can read more about the subject following this link: Haze removal - wrong colors in export

not in general I’d say, but for the specific report about dynamic range compression, maybe something can be done. I’ll think about it

@obe can you please re-upload the raw file you mentioned here?

The google drive link is dead…
Thanks!

Hi’

Here it comes…………DSC_9257.NEF (27.4 MB)
DSC_9257.NEF.pp3 (11.9 KB)

Thanks, I just submitted a patch that should take care of this.

Hi’ @agriggio

Thanks a lot. Excellent…!
How can I get a compiled windows version of RT including this patch?

well, several things need to happen:

  1. the patch has to be accepted
  2. it has to be merged in dev
  3. a Windows nightly build has to be prepared

none of this is under my control, so I don’t know
