Website showing Smartphone Camera Features

Recent and purely awesome I must add. Experimented with the Adobe DNG Converter the other week (which has the 1.7 JPEG XL compression now) and saw impressive reductions in size with lossless JPEG XL compression. Looking forward to hopefully see support for these files in darktable.

Converting my 50 MB A7 III uncompressed .arw files looks very tempting. There’s no lossless compression .arw alternative on this camera. It’s either uncompressed or lossy. It would considerably shrink my library…

I don’t think this information is correct. As far as I know, Pixel 8 series has isocell gnk sensor.

No idea for sure… I went by this but in a quick google there were various claims made…the official specs from google that I came across did not mention the chip by name…

And in any case the GNK still says it uses a 10bit ADC so its the software getting the higher DNR out of the sensor at least that is what appears to me…

This report would agree with you…

I just have the regular pixel but I dont’ think the pro got a different sensor…

Hm, please let me correct: When switched to camera2 api, opencamera has raw capabilities on both cameras. Why the heck is camera2 not the default in opencamera? This is not the first time I made this error, because it’s so weird and the settings menu is a big mess (not blaming anyone, it’s great to have a free/libre/open source android camera, no matter how messy the settings menu is) …
