On Linux, go to nvidia x server settings/x servers display configuration, in layout, ctrl+left mouse on the screen 10bits capable & under, you can choose in color depth. Works with Dt, Gimp, Hugin, Xnview, etc. Doesn’t work with Cups, Gutenprint, Turboprint, Vuescan, etc
