What a drag to have to wait so long for the car!
All the best for the interview
That’s a bit of a wait for a new car! I’ve never actually ever bought a brand new car, I always buy previously enjoyed ones. My next one will probably be automatic transmission, due to my health issues making a manual transmission somewhat bothersome. Although I’m still waiting to hear back from the DVLA with regards to medical licence.
I’m getting my booster this afternoon!
Good luck with your interview @afre !
No choice during the pandemic: some used cars are more expensive than new ones. Major shortages.
Turned to a (sketchy) car share. My data and financial information are all theirs for a discount (compared to the normal rental players).
Interview was fine. Had good vibes. Got a conversation going. I doubt it was impressive or comprehensive enough but who knows. I tend to underestimate myself. 2-3 week wait.
Back to theSearch, the name of my wonderful journey of applying for jobs…
Yes! Great!
Boo, stop doing that.
@paperdigits The assessment and interview was a success but due to an inequitable issue I was not hired and quite a few of my applications were disregarded. It was for a really good job too: pay, level and resume wise. Came as a shock because I had my hopes up. All of the sudden opportunities were taken away from me. Still persisting but it has greatly affected the quality of my subsequent applications.
@Brian_Innes How are things with you? Have you been taken care of by your medical providers?
Alas, despite seeing a Professor of Neurology last week, I’ve now been referred back to my regular Dr of Neurology, for “more tests”.
It seems “more tests” are to look for something genetic / degenerative, along the lines of Multiple Sclerosis etc…
Either that or its a “code phrase” for palming the patient off until he gives up looking for a diagnosis…
Years ago, I met a professor of neurology at a social function. I described some stuff about my neuropathy symptoms and how a couple of previous neurologists had been unable to help me. He told me he thought he could help and told me to make an appointment to see him.
When I called to get an appointment, the receptionist insisted on me describing my problems, then she informed me that, “He does not work with that kind of thing.” She would not even entertain the fact that he had personally told me to make an appointment with him. I could not get by her.
That was 25 or 30 years ago, and I still get steamed when I recall it.
Hey, I unlisted this thread last month, as it has reached maturity and also contains personal information. Thanks for all your participation and feedback.
Unfortunately, I am still searching. I never had much luck in all my life. As a result, I don’t have any expectations. Of course, I try/tend to see the glass as half full.
