Would it be possible to have split scopes for RGB parade

I like the idea of the split scopes, however, I find waveform uninformative for me as I just don’t understand what it is showing. On the other hand I like RGB parade and would like to see split scopes offered with RGB parade. Is this practical and is it desirable?

Its worth wrapping your head around the waveform…its a much better guide and representation of your image than a standard histogram… If you stack the parade you essentailly have the waveform so if you understand the parade the waveform shouldn’t be a mystery…you are just getting a signal read out across the image on a per channel basis and the channels are stacked on one another… this shows you exactly what is going on in each channel in the physical location or space of image…

Yes, the waveform is more informative, but sometimes I’d like to see the spatial information not on a per channel basis. Could it be possible to have such a display?

You mean like the waveform with just luminosity displayed? I’d like that, too.

There is a PR: waveform scope: add option for luma display by dtorop · Pull Request #20704 · darktable-org/darktable · GitHub
