I am a pensionado seeking to kill some time. When I was younger 50 years ago I had bought this Newton 2,5 inch 700mm Newton. I had a book of my mother “Which star is that” In that time 1969 I could see the bright Milky Way outside on clear evenings. I also also had managed to attach a 35 mm camera with 200 ISO film and took pictures of the moon which I also developed myself in my darkroom. Then my education and working lif (electronics and after that IT) happend plus family lif. So now I take time to jump into astrophotography, only with my Sony A6300 camera with 16-50mm lens and 55-210mm lens, on a tripod. Using timelaps give me 150 to 300 picture before they fall out of my foto window. With that I put Siril to work. After first trying DSS and Gimp. Seems that Siril does a lot in one free program. In v1.2.0 even Starnet++ is includes and works with the push of a button. No more hasseling with commandfiles in a CMD box. But the possibilities are immense , so take time to have advantage of it.
