2024/08/07 Darktable support for Calibrite ColorChecker Classic

Hello reader!

I would like to know if there will be any support for calibrite color checkers on darktable. I’ve attached a raw file (image ‘1.1’) of the best exposure (tested using the color picker module refer to image ‘1.2’) using the passport style color checker.

Below: Image 1.2, what I used to determine the best picture of color checker.

Type calibrite into the search function of this forum and your question may have previously been answered. Good luck.

What is covered is listed in the manual:darktable 4.6 user manual - color calibration

Cheers for that! Seems like I flushed $120 down the drain if calibrite’s color checker isn’t considered to be an accurate color checker

I appreciate your assistance!

Thank you so much for sending that link! This workaround adapted older configuration of the colorchecker classic to the updated version which was bought out by calibrite so I really appriciate your help!

Calibrite came to be because X-Rite thought it would be better for that part of the business to be a separate entity. So far, except for the new HL meters, all Calibrite products are simply rebadged X-Rite with no differences other than the name. This also goes for the ColorChecker Classic, which hasn’t been updated, only rebranded.

There shouldn’t be an issue if you simply shoot it in landscape or rotate it after your shot so that white is lower left…then there is not much tweaking necessary… and as others have said I think its just rebranded unless there are new or update values posted somewhere…

simply drag the corners to the appropriate place
