Just saw this. If you are not a professional this takes all the fun out processing photos. Adobe is debuting an AI assistant for Photoshop | TechCrunch
Long may FOSS prosper
So Photoshop is turning into a very fancy AI prompt interface? ![]()
they have to keep you on that $ubscription gravy train.
Oh dear! I have never used Photoshop for serious work and I never will.
At first, I actually misread the title as Photoslop, heh
The number of hobbyists I have met recently who would love nothing more than a “Make Pretty” button has kind of shocked me. I wouldnt be surprised if something along those lines hits Adobe in the next couple years.
Who is even going to be buying photo editing software if ai replaces photographers like Adobe wants.
Good question. When actual flesh-bag users start to flee, then Adobe can get in line behind GM, Ford, and whatever crypto scam corporations, and money-laundering banks start begging for a massive bailouts. I guess immigrants are at fault!
But enough cynical meanderings. I have to get back to work so I can afford to pay for gas!
This had been the thing that I’ve been struggling to deal with. The most depressing thing about the ai discourse for me was realising that a lot of developers, including a few that I really respect(ed) don’t care about the process and see programming purely as an obstacle, and I can’t relate to that at all.
It’s not just development tho it’s every field where ai is gaining traction. So many people seem to want to forgoe any friction at all and are happily participating in building workflows that intend to replace themselves.
Buying? Adobe hasn’t sold Photoshop in quite a while, it’s subscriptions all the way, yeah?
You’ll own nothing and you’ll like it. ![]()
Oh my god I’ve been so in my little FOSS bubble that I forgot about that lmao.
