All masks stopped working in darktable

Adding new masks to modules has stopped working in darktable 4.6.1 in macOS. Or rather, I can add them but they have no effect.

Existing masks created before things went wrong still work.

Any clues?

Drawn mask ? Opacity ?

I swear I double checked mask opacity, but that was the problem! :man_facepalming: Thanks!

For some reason it always defaults to 10.58% now.

Check darktablerc :

plugins/darkroom/masks/opacity=1,000000

Thanks!

This is a nuance…if for some reason you change opacity before creating the mask it will be the default for all new masks… if you get this again you can go to the config file and reset it or simply reverse the process by setting opacity to 100 first before you draw the mask and then you should be back to 100% for all subsequent masks…

Usually setting it before drawing sets it permanently, but retouch module sets it permanently also afterwards (via the slider).
