Update: The problem I reported below seems confined to the first attempt to run RT after compilation. Closing the shell then opening another shell to run RT seems to resolve the issue.
Based on the RawPedia instructions for Linux, I seem to have succeeded in getting the RT dev build installed and running on my Windows 11 system running the Windows Subsystem for Linux and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. It may be a Ubuntu-specific snag; but, in addition to the packages these instructions cited as dependencies, I found I also needed the “libtool” package to complete the compilation.
The trouble is that while RT launches blazingly fast, it does not respond to keystrokes or mouse clicks. I have to kill its process by getting back to its shell window and keying in Ctrl-C. Did I miss something in the instructions, or is this a WSL issue? Of course, if anyone is running the dev build on WSL, I’d love to hear that’s it’s at least possible!
Thanks,
Terry
