From my street series where I forgot to put the camera in compressed nef instead of compressed high efficiency nef. The HE Nefs were converted using Adobe DNG converter in Wine so I was ‘saved’
The idea of this edit was to create a contrast between forgotten and modern times (this is one of the last cigar / tobacco shops in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, next to plenty of other ‘coffee shops’ of course. The guy reminds me of my grandfather. He had a similar looking stationary shop

Selective dehazing and few additional enhancements. Thought about making both brick and blue wall cleaner, but decided I’m too tired and lazy to push the effort. lol
Opposite approach with monochrome by me. Used color to draw attention to man who if he is like me walked out of the tobacco shop and is going to the “coffee shop”. AI masking for laziness. 20260718_0579.dng.xmp (21.2 KB)
Partly by accident I got a red/“oranje boven”. Normally I’m not so much into playing with colors but this time I did a bit more. Added blues to the tiles down under and thus got the dutch flag (please bear in mind I’m not really a nationalist… ).
Partly desaturated the man (stole your idea) and used a bit of fine grainon the man (@Popanz idea). Removed lot of the color from the picture in the shop window. Slight crop, vignette and frame.
