As a backup tactic for my DT configuration, I usually make a copy of the entire C: \ Users \ Marcio \ AppData \ Local \ darktable directory. It is enough or I need to back up some other directory / file?
You could also take a backup of the xmp sidecar files that sit alongside your raw images, just in case, but it’s probably not vital if you’re already taking regular backups of the configuration.
Chris, I am aware of the importance of sidecar XMP, but in this matter I am just looking to back up the program and all the settings (configuration, presets , …).
Yes that folder is all you need for configuration, settings and such.
The directory on Windows is C:\Users<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\darktable
A user friendly method for regular, automatic backups is to place a hardlink to this directory
in a specific directory, where all other important files and hardlinks for regular backups are located.
With this hardlink method for all kind of config files
you can backup a lot of different software files together.
