Birds in snowfall

Yesterday it was snowing, a lot. There have recently been big flocks of birds flying near our house in the treetops. I saw the birds once again and had to go out to capture a flight of them. Sometimes I feel a bit of a lucky bastard to have all this nature so near.

Couldn’t resist posting this one since it is a pretty nice playground for experimentation with the “diffuse or sharpen” module. There a so many levels of structure – on one hand the snowflakes, on the other hand all the haziness.

Here are a couple of edits of mine, a colourful and a B&W one. I used one instance of “diffuse or sharpen” to accentuate the bigger structure of the nearest trees and another one to sharpen the snowflakes and the birds.
