Blue Oldtimer and green windows

I encountered this beautiful scene at a great open-air museum in Aarhus, Denmark (Den Gamle By → The old place) and recently decided to redo it with dt 3.8:

I liked the little scene emerging from car, heart-graffiti and the clothing line, as well as the blue and green colours.

However, I also tried a black-and-white version with a little tighter crop:

Looking forward to your creative ideas!

p.S.: It’s pure coincedence that the car is featured on the museum’s website.

Lots of things going for this image (except for the top left - if only the clothesline was lower…). I love it and can’t wait to see what people do.

Did you mis-spell “higher”?

LOL, no, I want to see the clothes and tightrope walker who is outside of the frame.

Nice one! Color and black and white following. I kept them a little darker than many others.

Thank you! This was a hot and bright day, so the brightness feels fairly natural to me. I am curious why you made it darker, though.

I guess it’s mostly because the whole scene is in the shade. So I wanted to keep a hint of the bright sunshine in a corner of the sky and maintain a natural relationship with the shaded areas. Also, I think the reflections in the car’s paint and chrome details look more natural this way.
In the black and white version, I felt a bit more unrestricted since I cropped out the sky, so I could brighten the car more by using mostly the blue channel.

When I load your sidecar I get a color image with no framing.

Hi @Underexposed
Framing is done by the export module usinfg a specific darktable style and it’s not recorded within the sidecard

You can get it at Dropbox - JM_cadre_fin.dtstyle - Simplify your life

Thanks for the tip about the framing. What about the BW?

@Underexposed
I don’t know why you can’t get the BW version of the photo
I posted the right version (3) on my dev

I found it: you used a cube file. Where did you get that?
