Boris the spider

creepy, crawling…
I’m not really satisfied with the background - but if you’re outside, you don’t have a choice.

Nice pictures! What species is it, in what country?

All I can say: it’s from Germany. I am no spider expert - but macros of insects open a new world to me. And it makes a difference, if it’s your own picture or not … at least for me.

I think it’s a metellina segmentata. If anyone thinks it’s another one: please post!

Judging from the pictures I found on the net I think you are right. Which disqualifies me from being an arachnologist. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have coloured the spider yellowish.

:worried:

You may not necessarily wrong: Wikipedia says metellina segmentata may be yellow, green or red/brown. You can change your smiley!

I think the background is fitting. I gave the spider a slight reddish color with a film emulation preset. Then I worked to make everything as clear as possible.

Nice capture. I didn’t feel the need to do much with her.
