On the master branch, built-in and custom (own) presets are no longer placed in separate groups, but are added to a single list in alphabetical order (this may not be a very recent change; I have not edited much lately). I assume this came along with the hierarchical presets.
What do you think about this change? Right now, it makes finding both my own presets and my favourite built-in presets slower. E.g. maybe I had 2-3 custom presets for a module, I always knew to look at the end of the list to find them, but now they are no longer there. The same goes for built-in presets: maybe one was in the middle of the built-in section, but it’s no longer there now, it’s wherever my own presets pushed it.
I guess I can re-learn where to look, but if others are also less than happy with the change, maybe we could make it configurable, or undo it.
I look forward to seeing what the Windows version looks like when it is released on Monday. Hopefully no changes and if there are I agree that it didn’t need fixing or changing.
Yep. I didn’t consider this requirement when sorting the menus after adding (and translating) presets. Previously the sorting happened in the query, but that no longer works because the database now contains untranslated labels. I’ll have to fix when I find some time.
All mixed up in the weekly windows build. For me the jury is out on this deciding if this is an improvement or backward step. It would change how I name my presets to make them fall into a logical order.
What I would like to be able to do is place my own presets within the ordered structure that already exists so that if I create a sharpening preset I could find it in the same group as the supplied sharpening presets.
Hello,
Personally, I think it’s good that they’re mixed with personal presets only if we can sort them by tabs (*** | ***). This is currently not the case.
