I am about to buy an ASUS Pro Art monitor, it has 100% sRGB coverage, a DeltaE <2 and is Calman verified.
As this is Calman verified, and has a low DeltaE, am I meant to be able to use it by simply setting my display profile to sRGB, or do I still need it’s ICC profile?
That monitor likely has a native gamut that is larger than sRGB, so you would need to set it to sRGB mode in its menu, if you also set the display profile in your computer to sRGB.

Else, if you want to use the native mode, you need an ICC profile.

Thanks for the reply, I am happy to use sRGB. So if I set it to sRGB in the menu, and set my display profile to sRGB, I should be good to go? The Calman Verified certification means that it is pre-calibrated for sRGB?
Yes, that’s my understanding. Calman certification and “100% sRGB coverage” means that the monitor’s sRGB mode accurately fits the sRGB specification (within dE specified), not that the monitor’s native mode is sRGB.
If you leave the monitor in its native setting (wider gamut than sRGB), but tell the OS to use sRGB, then colors will be shifted and/or oversaturated.
