After some database corruption, a couple of hundred images now have two versions.#
I can go through deleting the XMP for the unwanted version, or do it inside DT but is there a way to just ignore the problem and only export version 1 of an image? This would save a lot of time as each image takes about 20 seconds to process.
There is the option to use a variable for “version number” but this seems like it only allows you to change the exported file name. DT will still spend processing time preparing each version for export before deciding whether to store it, and what to name it.
I guess I can clean up my image collection manually, but it would be interesting to know of a semi-automatic solution.
I believe each new version of an image gets a new .XMP . Problem is, all the .XMPs have pretty much the same timestamp, so the only thing that would help is to be able to select images by their version number.
Windows or Linux?? If Windows I run a little program that’s free called autover…it archives versions of my xmp files so I can go back to any past edit… I have had a few snafu’s in the past trying to use multiple versions databases etc…I’m sure you can do the same in Linux
