Can we increase the image preview in the 'Open File' window?

I like to delete my bad subs before I run preprocessing scripts.

Siril’s (1.4.0.beta3) ‘Open File’ UI shows a preview of the image which is useful, alas the images are only 256x256 (max). Is there a way to increase the size of the preview image? If not how can I make an enhancement request?

Also it would be super nice if we could also delete bad subs directly in siril.

Thanks in advance.

In the preferences there’s two possible size. I think the default one is the largest.
However he best moment to analyze and reject image is after calibration. This is what Siril provides ( right after registration).

Hello,
Culling images indeed works very well after registration when image quality plots show up. However, this becomes tedious with narrow-band data in images which are split into separate sequences, for example for OIII and Ha, prior to optional calibration (for me) and registration. Because then one goes through the registration process twice, the images that need to be culled are more or less the same in both narrow-band sequences. Being able to do this before images are split according to the CFA array would be nice, so that obviously bad images could be rejected at the beginning of the process. I did not find a way to do this in Siril, but I could be mistaken. With narrow-band images, I run off to ZWO’s Fits View within their ASI Studio Suite to do the first cut on un-split images. Fits View gives preview of images that are in a folder and the ability to trash bad ones. Works for me on a Mac and undoubtedly on Windows.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I see the preview image can be set to 128x128 or 256x256. 512x512 or bigger would allow siril to be a great fits viewer to help culling before running pre-processing scripts (where I filter on roundness and wfwhm).

However, I don’t think this is the goal of the open dialog.

And FYI, Siril has now a python script that provide blink feature. That could help you.

Thanks for the suggestion on the blink scripts. Alas that doesn’t help. The frame viewer is large but too easy to mismatch frame number and filename and delete the wrong sub.

The open file UI would be awesome if the image could be larger.

Do you know to proper why to make a feature request and/or submit a code change?
