canon powershot g5x mark 2 and digikam

Hi
can anyone explain why digikam can’t find this camera? The windows 11 filemanager sees it, the memory card is visible in digikam, but hooking up the camera leads to warnings when I try to detect it.
Gphoto claims it can deal with this camera, but I have no success?

What kind of warnings? Important detail.

thanks for the reply: attached the warning message. It tells me that autodetect doesnb’t work properly. A manual attempt also fails

to add , in digiCamcontrol I afce the same issue and even in the Canon DPP software I can’t open the DCIM/100Canon directory. Now I remove the memory card from the camera and then every functions normally

Sounds like maybe your Operating System is mounting the drive before anything else can.

How to prevent that?
