Cant find Montage filter?

Hi, just downloaded the latest GMIC, specifically to use the Arrays & tiles “Montage” filter, but it’s not there?

Its also not on the GMIC homepage http://gmic.eu/gimp.shtml, but it is in the filter list (simple text file) http://gmic.eu/gimp_filters.txt.

So Im not sure, whether it shoudl be there, but it wasn’t installed or is not showing for some reason, or it is no longer part of the package?

thanks,
Lukas

BTW, it’s showing 502 GMIC filters available, update from internet (sourceforge update http://gmic.sourceforge.net/update1571.gmic) fails.

It should still be a part of the package - it certainly wasn’t removed! Are you using it from the GIMP interface?

hey thanks for a quick response. yeah, Filter>G’MIC, see screenshot.

I have GIMP 2.8, I just downloaded the package and installed it.

Could it be a conflict with other scripts?

In any case you don’t have the actual gmic version! 1.7.4 is actual! Try to find it under gmic.eu http://gmic.eu/!

Not sure where you got this package from, but it is really old. As in, from before @David_Tschumperle even got the Montage filter created, I think.

Go get a new version that is up to date:
http://gmic.eu/gimp.shtml

Then you should be good to go!

right… I clicked through a webiste listing top 20 GIMP plugins, it took me to (what I thought) was the same homepage you posted here, but maybe not. It looked the same, maybe it was just an old direct download link.

got the latest one now, it’s all there, thanks for your quick help!

Hello, the web is full of top 10…, 20 best…, 30 ultimate… downloads of every piece of software. Those sites are generally made to collect clicks, to generate traffic and often to install malware. In general it’s a good idea to avoid sites with titles like above, and look for the original publisher. In case of G’MIC, type those letters in a search engine and the first link you get is:

That happens to be the main/official site as well.
