Now that I know that the lines work I should probably reshoot this, using a tripod and take more time framing it. There are a few small things that bother me about this one. Those “issues” are the result of a handheld shot while in a halfway squat (my poor knees ) and being in a bit of a hurry to get to an appointment.
Don’t get me wrong, I like this shot, I wouldn’t have posted it if I hadn’t.
We’re finally getting a little color, by our standards. Only took until the last week of November! I went out this afternoon before sunset. I’m not sure which of these I like better.
Yeah, I’m kinda leaning that way, too. I dropped the exposure on the water a tad to make the trees stand out relatively a bit more, added a vignette, etc. I confess to cloning out a misplaced radio tower against the sky in both shots. Those engineers really should’ve asked me before they put it up, ya know… Also had to burn in the details of the dock / pier in the background, too. It was too bright and distracting. Even so, neither image will withstand too much pixel-peeping. The overall scene (light, etc.) was kind of on the limit of what my skill, optics, experience will support.
This week-end we went hiking in the Aosta valley in Italy. This is a picture of the Forte di Bard taken on Sunday morning with an Olympus E-M10MarkIV and minimally processed with Darktable.
Went for a short ‘photo walk’ this afternoon (early evening really). Nice light but didn’t see all that much worth photographing somehow… still, I got one or two which I quite like. Almost summer…
@Olymp Welcome to the community, and thanks for sharing!
I appreciate the lines and textures. I like how your capturing and processing doesn’t result in a deep haze that can spoil an otherwise breathtaking landscape.
