[Capture Challenge] Charge your battery and take some photos

Now that I know that the lines work I should probably reshoot this, using a tripod and take more time framing it. There are a few small things that bother me about this one. Those “issues” are the result of a handheld shot while in a halfway squat (my poor knees  ) and being in a bit of a hurry to get to an appointment.

Don’t get me wrong, I like this shot, I wouldn’t have posted it if I hadn’t.

Please do post again if you change the composition slight! Maybe even shoot a wide shot so we can see what you’ve edited out.

I really like the first one. The bokeh gives a sensation that it’s moving sort of like a wave, really well done.

Fog banks in the early morning; Alway a great subject to shoot!

Thanks. I would have liked to spend more time taking photos, but I was afraid I’d be late as it was… so this was just a grab shot really. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Oh no, not another sunrise…

We’re finally getting a little color, by our standards. Only took until the last week of November! I went out this afternoon before sunset. I’m not sure which of these I like better.

I like the depth of the first one…

Yeah, I’m kinda leaning that way, too. I dropped the exposure on the water a tad to make the trees stand out relatively a bit more, added a vignette, etc. I confess to cloning out a misplaced radio tower against the sky in both shots. Those engineers really should’ve asked me before they put it up, ya know… Also had to burn in the details of the dock / pier in the background, too. It was too bright and distracting. Even so, neither image will withstand too much pixel-peeping. The overall scene (light, etc.) was kind of on the limit of what my skill, optics, experience will support.

Thanks.

I have a few morning-sun images of a steaming locomotive, wtih a pesky power tower in the background. Had to go…

Could have gotten rid of the cell tower too, but I was feeling guilty…

I like the silhouetted figure in the bottom right but I didn’t notice it right off. Too busy looking at that distracting cell tower…

The shadow of the cab in the steam is nice, too.

WOW! I love it… so much atmosphere, literally and figuratively.

BTW, the figure + locomotive was the first thing I saw - only saw the cell tower after I read the text

Really fascinating picture. Like it very much :ok_hand:
Any chance for a play raw - to, err butcher it?

This week-end we went hiking in the Aosta valley in Italy. This is a picture of the Forte di Bard taken on Sunday morning with an Olympus E-M10MarkIV and minimally processed with Darktable.

Hi, and welcome!
Great shot of a very impressive location :+1:

Went for a short ‘photo walk’ this afternoon (early evening really). Nice light but didn’t see all that much worth photographing somehow… still, I got one or two which I quite like. Almost summer…

This is how the day broke today (Darktable).

@Olymp Welcome to the community, and thanks for sharing!

I appreciate the lines and textures. I like how your capturing and processing doesn’t result in a deep haze that can spoil an otherwise breathtaking landscape.

Windy sweet gum tree leaves, from my patio. 6-stop ND filter for a slower shutter speed.
