[Capture Challenge] Charge your battery and take some photos

I made a last minute decision to drive out to a local flood-control diversion canal that until just recently had been itself flooded due to rain. I got there 15 minutes before sunset and managed to grab this shot in the window between cloud and lake. Nothing earth-shattering but I like the sun in that horizontal “slot”. I also like the cool blue and warm orange contrasting colors.

Winter solstice here in the Southern Hemisphere … 6 second hand-held whilst waiting for takeaway order at the local fish shop. My favourite of 6 captures due to the red light-trails.

The trails of the lights show how the vehicle’s suspension dealt with the speed bump. Cool!

Hello,
This morning, while having breakfast on the terrace, I noticed a few butterflies fluttering around us as they gathered nectar from the lavender.
Nothing extraordinary as a photograph, but they managed to get me to take out my camera.

Have a nice day,
Christian

Hi
Appreciate how difficult it is to get them all fitting in the frame without chopping any bits off - good job.
Best of the bunch 151

Would a tighter crop help any???

How long was the exposure?

3s.

From a summer solstice event at the library yesterday. The architecture was designed with the solstice in mind, such that the sun will shine down the walls from about 15 minutes before and after solar noon. The light travels from one side of the room to the other, acting as a sort of sun dial. The circular windows on the ceiling create sun spots in the room.

I really had no idea what to expect but it was pretty neat, and I took the opportunity to finally get a library card…

I really like 20250621_0026 (bottom middle). It makes me question what is going on.

Surprise guest at the pub (after outing with camera club).

Warning: image of a tiny jumping spider. Don't open if that bothers you. It was tiny, and I think cute.
