So bad (not the picture ). Good luck finding some nice gear
They could have properly demolished it before a tempest spreads the debris all over the place. That would avoid (or at least reduce) rusty nails and broken glass on a beach…
Oof, that’s unfortunate. Is that zoom powered by the lens or the body?
its been powered inside the lens manually. But anyway i won’t try a repair, cuz the sony a-mount system is too old.
I was in the shop today and probably will go with a fujii X-H2.
In case of anybody is interested in spare parts of a-mount lenses, let me know
One of the left overs now is the combination of alpha 77II and a very, very good SAL100mm macro prime lens. Thats sad.
I have a soft spot for the a77.
RIP your a-mount lens system.
Amazing shot, I love the gradient and overall atmosphere except for the dust spots near the top.
Thanks! I think I kind of took care of the spots now.
There’s one more near the top-leftcorner, but this looks better now
I can’t see it very well. Do you mind if I just leave it there?
The camera is supposed to do sensor cleaning on switch-on and switch-off, but there seem to be a couple of persistent dust spots. I’ll clean the sensor as soon as I get back.
I found my first dust spot on the first day of a 2 week road trip two years ago. Dang; I coded a clone-style spot tool for rawproc in the next three days on the road…
I accidentally said right instead of left, but anyways. Of course, this version is fine already and you have to know it’s there
Going through pictures shot on the recently-completed Hawaii vacation. For the first time, incorporating cell phone images from both my wife’s phone and mine, interesting to see the side-by-side comparisons. TLDR, I ain’t selling my camera…
Here’s some of the best from the camera. First, Kualoa Ranch:
They do a lot of movies and TV shows here, thte only place I specifically recognized was the road in the movie “50 First Dates” where Drew Barrymore beat the snot out of Rob Schneider:
Byodo-In Temple at Kaneohe:
Hale-akala Crater, Maui, at sunrise. We took the same excursion six years ago, got fogged out, so were glad to get a good view this time. Looking over the crater:
Crater interior:
I like sunrise light.
Rainbow Falls, Hilo:
Got there mid-morning, light was not that interesting. On that excursion, we where headed to Maunu Kea, home to a boatload of telescopes:
Nawiliwili Harbor, Kauai:
I think there’s a theme going on there.
We first rode the Norwegian Hawaii cruise, a great way to see the islands, your hotel follows you around. After that, we spent 10 days at the Hale Koa hotel on Oahu, mostly just hanging out. View from our room:
Nice sunsets almost every day:
Now, back in Colorado, just in time to rake leaves.
@ggbutcher the crater interior is sublime.
The light up there was just stunning. Here’s another:
The sunrise itself was pretty, but my best shots came in the 1/2 hour before:
Awesome stuff, Glen. I like the interplay of clouds and light!
Thanks! Really, I was just a spectator, one who wished he’d brought the good lens…
