This bird is judging me, and I’m found lacking.

So cool. What species is this?

My ability to reply is lacking…I tried to reply to @Ulrich_from_Germany :upside_down_face:

It’s a Terathopius ecaudatus, in German a Gaukler.

Oh, that’s fun, in Dutch this is a “bateleur”, which is also the name of one of our compute clusters (we have a thing with naming things after birds).

Was it in free nature or in a Kind of Zoo?

I took my dog out for a walk. He found his friend.

The “friend” is a coyote I’ve mentioned elsewhere.

Heck of a day today… Went out immediately after work to find some new spots to shoot at near where I’m staying and wandered in to a woodland. Got some stream photos and found three tiny waterfalls, then saw the moon centered over this interesting rock.
Even managed to get a quick photo of a a rainbow at the jobsite (been raining here for the last three days) when the sun finally came out.
I’ll be heading back to these spots when I can.
Still haven’t found a great spot to get the surrounding mountains that isn’t constrained by time… But I think I’m getting closer.
All photos edited in dt 4.6.

Had an hour to shoot yesterday. Fall is hard to convey in IR.

Edit: I need to learn how to format the image grids…sigh
