Hello, I’m very happy to share this picture I had in mind for quite some time and that I’ve finally shot. It’s the first picture I share here.
These are my two daughters, 4 and 1,5 years old. I’m making a print out of this picture and I will hang on the wall of their bedroom so that, at least this is my hope, they will grow up having in mind to always play together.
The picture is a composite of two images. I wonder if someone could take a single shot like that with the entropy that two babies can create
.
Maybe prospective is a bit broken due to the fact that are two images (even if they are taken with the same focal length but of course distance was different). This difference in prospective does not bother me too much, it gives a more ‘graphical look’ and more importantly keeps the two subjects proportional in the frame. I would love to hear your feedbacks please .
Edit: for what it matters, bubbles are 100% authentic (size, position etc)
Very nice; I like the silhouettes. I haven’t seen portraits like these for some time.
As you suggest, it does look like two images due to relative size and position. Maybe you can keep trying? Perhaps the older child would even recreate blowing bubbles.
Best wishes
Sometimes I find remnants of a bygone era in old park land: The first image appears to be a drinking fountain. The second is the old parking lot. Both are, now, far away from the current parking area and trails. During the summer months, tree foliage and brush obscure these locations and I never knew they were here until now. The old road into the this parking area now dumps you into a residential area with steel and concrete barriers blocking the entrance.
Rob, I love how you have toned the images to suit the “bygone era” feel.
Brutalist fountain, that’s fore sure!
These are taken on a 720nm IR converted camera. The toning is, mostly, the result of doing a R-B channel swap with 50/50 split of the green channel. It is something I stumbled across when processing the cemetery shots I posted a week or two ago. It totally reminds me of images I see that were taken in the late 40’s and 50’s. Or, at least, the ones I see reproduced in books from that time period.
After not seeing much sky at all this week, it cleared up enough yesterday to permit both a sunrise in the morning, and the Milky Way at night.
And now it’s currently clouded over and raining again
The red light on the trees is the result of setting up near the train tracks where a signal is always illuminated.
I didn’t expect to see results like that in the photo… But I’m not mad about it.
Really nice job processing those clouds in the sunrise image. I think I have said it before, but your images always make me a little homesick (even though its been nearly 20 years).
Got a new Viltrox AF 28mm f/4.5 pancake lens for 62.40 EUR (including shipping
). This is the first decent result. I actually bought it for street photogaphy but roses also work
.
beautiful take
wish you much fun with your new toy ![]()
Wow! What you call a frost is much heavier than what we call a frost in the SE US.
Hot take – frost > snow
that looks like a lovely place for an evening walk alone
