We have meant to go to the various Highland Games around the area, but other commitments and bad weather have interfered.

However, Pitlochry Highland Games is back after two years away and the sun was shining, so we walked down. The guys (and it still is largely guys) who take part in the heavy events are mad, how else can you explain someone wanting to throw a 22lb stone, a 16lb hammer or 20 foot long tree
trunk?

… while wearing a skirt with no underwear.

Otherwise good shot, even if everybody wonders what is happening at the other end of the pole.

Pole? I’ll have you know that is a caber.

Yeah, it was tricky. I took my 200-500 lens with me, since I was sure the action would take place a distance away in the centre of the arena. I hadn’t reckoned on having to get both the man and the 20ft caber in shot.
