I can’t make it down to the Tidal Basin in Washington DC, but there are plenty of cherry blossoms in my neighborhood to photograph. Here’s one attempt… I had to work to strike the right balance of detail against the soft paper of the petals. I’d like to see what you can do with it!

I always seem to make them too dark. Here’s another version, brightened a bit with the RGB Curves tool:IMG_0973.CR2.xmp (8.3 KB)
Spring!

Edit:
revisiting this on my calibrated monitor, tells me that this version might look somewhat better:

Yeah, spring is in the air. I don’t mind having a break from all the rain, wind and general bad weather

Keeping all that white natural makes it harder than it looks…
Indeed. And to make matters worse, in subdued light the petals actually have a pinkish overtone…
Lovely image. The workflow in [PlayRaw] Speed processing challenge - Dreamy landscape - #22 by afre was successful. Will try the same thing here. Added a contrast step, tweaked the brightness-contrast and chroma. Done in 14 min. Zoom and enjoy!
Went back and replaced the contrast step with my usual sharpening command. Seems to make the edges weaker, but lighter or a little more colourful. (See filaments to see what I mean.) Which do you prefer?

Here is one take with little less contrast in high key mode. RT 5.8

I wanted the foreground flowers to stand out, so this processing has a bit more contrast with the background than usual:

edit: it took me a little more than 14min to develop it
I’ve been on a brief sabbatical from the web, and just catching up. I think your second one better captures their original appearance. Cherry blossoms are a lot harder than it would seem!
Light and fluffy… I like it!
