Can’t seem to get that glossy look on the thermos top and cup…

Starting from your pp3, I have «evolved» the image into something a bit different: I wanted to give it an old, grungy and tactile feeling, so here is the result.

Great photograph! I have tried to increase the emphasis on the coffee grinder without spoiling the overall effect.

My take on the coffee grinder, I tried to up the contrasts and details but staying subtle, The light reflected by the coffee bean reservoir was a little too prominent so I processed that separately. I also tried a LUT file (from the rawtherapy creative pack) to alter the colors and mood.

Filmulated.

  • Highlight Recovery 2
  • Nudged the temperature up to 5737.
  • Shadow Rolloff Point 0.008976
  • Drama 70
  • White Clipping Point 0.49
  • Shadow Brightness 229
  • Vibrance 39 (this boosted a lot of the warmth)

Tried to create some kind of comic look in darktable

@Wocket A departure from the grittiness and, with its lighter tones, I think it works well. Would have been better with cleaner halo-free edges however.

DT 3.0.1 A creative view of your photo, Thanks for sharing

I found the image to be underexposed by 2 stops or so … once I fixed that problem it was quite strait forward.
